AIRT and AUVSI continue partnership highlighting the global perspective surrounding Drones For Good™ and Assuring Autonomy at the world’s largest unmanned systems show
MIAMI BEACH, FL - April 26, 2021 – The Airborne International Response Team (AIRT), the leading 501(c)3 organization supporting Drones For Good™ during emergencies and disaster response operations, today announced a continuation of their partnership with AUVSI, the world's largest non-profit organization dedicated to the advancement of unmanned systems and robotics, to produce the DRONERESPONDERS Global Public Safety UAS Summit at XPONENTIAL 2021, the world’s largest unmanned systems and robotic vehicles show.
This year, XPONENTIAL will be held in two separate series due to the COVID-19 global pandemic. The first part will feature live, virtual panels streamed via the Internet from May 4-6. The second series will mark a return to normalcy with live, in-person content held at the Georgia World Congress Center in Atlanta, GA August 16-19. Both sessions will feature public safety and humanitarian-related content produced by AIRT under the DRONERSPONDERS brand showing how both first and disaster responders are utilizing unmanned aircraft systems to help save lives and protect property.
“Our continued partnership with AUVSI will help educate first responders and disaster response professionals on how like-minded organizations around the globe are using Drones For Good™,” said Christopher Todd, Executive Director, AIRT. “The virtual XPONENTIAL event from May 4-6 will enable us to deliver content from all corners of the U.S. and across the oceans. We will be including international content in this program that you will not find at most in-person drone-related events.”
The DRONERESPONDERS Global Public Safety UAS Summit at XPONENTIAL (virtual) will include workshops and panel discussions featuring public safety drone experts from across the U.S., as well as specialized international use cases from organizations such as the London Fire Brigade and the United National World Food Programme.
“We are excited to team up with AIRT to again present the DRONERESPONDERS Public Safety UAS Summit at XPONENTIAL 2021,” said Keely Griffith, Director of Industry Education, AUVSI. “The adoption of unmanned and autonomous systems within the public safety community continues to garner immense interest throughout the industry. We look forward to having first responders and emergency services personnel take an increasingly active role in XPONENTIAL’s Assuring Autonomy educational programming.”
Special pricing is available to public safety professionals who use the promo code “AIRT30” at registration. “Not only will these first responders will receive our best available pricing, but they will also be able to receive the virtual content from the May XPONENTIAL session included in their package at no additional cost,” Griffin said.
Todd says this offer makes a ton of sense for public safety agencies and organizations with limited funding who want to use the DRONERESPONDERS Public Safety UAS Summit at XPONENTIAL (virtual) as a training tool for their team.
“We realize many agencies are operating on really tight budgets right now,” Todd says. “When these agencies commit to sending a representative to the in-person XPONENTIAL event in August, they will have the ability to use the May event as a virtual training tool for their entire drone team if they so choose.”
